This code comes at a great time considering new arrivals are expected to be available online this week. Although, the email indicates that the 20% off is also at stores. J.Crew Vintage Flower Pins: Sold Out!

Anonymous at 4:52 AM, Naomi, and Silver_Lining (in the "The Great (Weekly) Exchange" post) noticed that J.Crew's accessories page has a special notice on it: "We wish we had more. Because they're so special, our vintage flower pin collection has already sold out. We apologize for any inconvenience."
Like Silver_Lining, I did not see these pins for sale on J.Crew's website, so I am a bit curious how customers were able to purchase them. :) Silver_Lining thinks "that because they weren't on the site people Googled Dulken & Derrick and went directly to their website instead (where most of the flowers are more reasonably priced than JC's rumored $85-$110). They even had a section named "J Crew Inspired", although I believe they changed the name on that to "Special Collection". HOWEVER - if you go to their site the message on the main page reads: "*Due to relocation Orders will be processed slower than usual and many items listed are unfortunately sold out. Please be patient while we reconstruct the website, adding new flowers and categories."

Were any of you Aficionadas able to purchase one before they sold out? Do you already own one, if so please let us know what you think of the pins. :)

J.Crew Wedding & Parties Gets Updated!

As Heather pointed out (in the post "J.Crew Website Updated {yey!}"), J.Crew updated their "Wedding & Parties" page (click here). They included photos of real customers' weddings utilizing the wedding clothes that J.Crew offers. Also, SlightlyOlderSally let us know that there is a great video link on the bottom of "The J.Crew Wedding Album" that reads "watch our favorite first dance video... ever" that is totally worth checking out. I have to say that I really love this idea of showing real brides and grooms on their wedding day!!! :) It is great to see how beautiful real couples (and their family & friends) look in J.Crew clothes.

J.Crew's website is updated with new arrivals for men and women. Also, as Leslie pointed out (in the "J.Crew October Catalog: Have You Seen It Yet? :)" post) the October catalog (in its entirety) is now available online (click here).
Also, the final sale got updated with a lot more items (including past seasons). As Eddie & Stretch's Momma pointed out (in the post "J.Crew Website Updated!"), the {beautiful} Bella Jacket (click here) is also available on sale! :)

A Light at the End of J.Crew's Ordering Tunnel :)

"Thank you!" to Gillian who shared with us some interesting (and great!) news from a J.Crew customer service representative (CSR): "When speaking with j.crew customer service they explained that they are still having problems reconciling what is in the warehouse vs. what shows up as available online. SO – this weekend they are going through the entire warehouse and will be counting every item. Hopefully by next week this ongoing problem will be fixed and we will all be able to receive our entire orders moving forward."

As some of us have experienced first hand, many orders have been short-shipped or canceled due to lack of inventory (despite showing as "in stock" online). I really do hope that J.Crew can sort out the inventory issues this weekend to show in-stock items only on their website.

For those of you who have refrained from purchasing (either not purchasing as much or not purchasing at all) since the website upgrade: will you purchase online again if the inventory issues are resolved? If the inventory issues are resolved, do you think J.Crew will not only update their sale section, but have an awesome sale section (with lots more items being offered) next week? ;)

J.Crew Orders: Are You Getting Them? :)

"Thanks!" to Anonymous at 9:33 AM (in the "Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?" post) who came up with a great topic for a post. She suggested a discussion on how many older final sale items that we ordered actually get mailed to us.

Many of us ordered items in the Final Sale awhile back, that were wait-listed. Now some of those items are reappearing on the website's sale section as "in stock". Have those items, already ordered, been fulfilled or have they been canceled? As an example, Anonymous at 9:33 AM mentioned her situation: "I added the paper poplin rain jacket, the katie sweater, the popover blouse, the martine pink hibiscus cardigan and many more items (yes, they have just sat there with no activity other than to have items drop off cancelled) BUT for instance--the katie is still showing in stock/OPEN as is the piper seaglass blouse. I wonder if I will get these items?!"

I should also add that I have noticed that J.Crew's sale section still shows items as "in stock" and ready to purchase when they are actually not. As a result, I have gotten into the habit of placing orders over the phone (to check the items true status). I must have called J.Crew's customer service at least ten times in the past week to verify if the "in stock" item online is available for me to order, and I would say that at least 90% of the time the CS told me that the item is not in stock. Although I am disappointed at not being able to order the item, I am grateful that I did not place an order only to have it cancel (or worse) on me later.

Have the items you ordered on "wait list" been sent to you already (or are you still waiting for them to be shipped)? Have you seen those items (that you have been waiting for) available in the sale section as "in stock"? In general, have you been able to order & receive your J.Crew online purchases in a timely manner and error free? ;)

J.Crew Website: "Be Back Soon" For You Too?

I just tried going to J.Crew's website in Foxfire and found this image popping up. I then opened up the site in Internet Explorer- I was able to get the main page just fine, but when I clicked on the "sale" link, this image popped up as well. :(

Is anyone else experiencing problems accessing J.Crew's website?

Update: The website seems to be working fine for me now (6PM) in Firefox (but not in IE). More importantly, the site seems to work find for others- so chances are the site is working fine for you too. :)

J.Crew's Fall Looks For Women {Do you like?}

Over at the Women's section (click here for link), J.Crew offers a Fall Look Book that shows both "Black & Grey" and "Fall Color" outfits. These images are not new, seeing as how they are in their latest catalog (click here to view catalog). However, I do like looking through the outfits in both categories. I find them as great sources of ideas and templates on how to pair items.

Final Sale (Extra 20% Off Now): When Will It End?

Venice4504 suggested a great topic which is J.Crew's final sale and how long it has been going on. I agree with her that this final sale seems to be dragging on. I looked back in the posts of this blog and this latest final sale started on June 18th (refer to "Oh no, Final Sale is back!" post). Although the final sale has been going on for a few months, it does seem like a really long time to me. To be honest, I don't remember J.Crew's final sales lasting this long- just a couple of weeks (...or maybe I really never paid attention to them before). ;)

I don't like "final sales" in general. :) Even though I rarely (and I do mean rarely) return items I buy from J.Crew, I like knowing I have the option in case I need to. And most times, J.Crew will let you return a final sale item if you need to (thus semi-defeating the concept of the "final sale"). However, I do understand why J.Crew (and other retailers) would run sales that are "final" (seeing as how they are trying to liquidate end-of-the-season inventory).

Also "thanks!" to everyone (like mom-nyc [in the "J.Crew Plays Favorites: Are You One?" post], Maggie May & Blumre [in this post]) who let us know that J.Crew is now offering an additional 20% off their final sale using the promo code EXTRA20. This offer expires 9/7/08.

Twiga also let us know (in the "Love It Or Leave It: Jersey-Knit Pant" post) that she heard in her local J.Crew store yesterday that the additional 40% off final sale items will be reduced to an additional 20% today. I called one of my local J.Crew's today and they are indeed running the 20% off final sale. So chances are your local store will be carrying the 20% off final sale as well.
